MD Donato Perez-García I. (1896-1971) developed the IPT in Mexico. He applied this therapy to syphilis and poliomyelitis and achieved excellent results. As he had gastrointestinal problems he tested the new medicine - insulin - on himself. He administered a small dose of insulin, lowered his blood sugar level a bit and then took some food. It worked, all gastrointestinal problems disappeared and he had an idea with consequences: "If the insulin is able to transport food into the cells, then why should it not transport medication as well?" This was the birth hour of the IPT.
Dr. García treated poliomyelitis, tertiary syphilis, malaria, rheumatic pyrexia (fever), etc. with IPT, (which in those times was called "the cellular medicine") and achieved very good results. In 1946 he achieved his first successful cancer treatment (mamma carcinom). His son, MD Donato Perez-García y Belon (1930-2000) and also his grandson, MD Donato Perez-García III, continued practicing IPT.
Dr. Donato Perez-García III has trained over 200 medical doctors in practicing IPT since the year 2000. IPT is to be practiced by medical doctors with appropriate training only.

The patient arrives to the treatment with fasting blood glucose. After the correct oral and intramuscular medication a small dosage of insulin is applied, this lowers the blood sugar level down to between 40 and 20, and during this so called "therapeutic moment" the doctor applies small amounts of the relevant medication. For cancer it is the chemo-medication and for borreliosis it is the antibiotic. After that, glucose is applied in order to bring the blood sugar level up again. The patient finally can eat, drink and receives an individually compiled infusion.
